Thank you for visiting my Israel Ride page!!
I am thrilled to share that this November, I will be joining my dad for the 2019 Israel (Bike) Ride from Jerusalem to Eilat (uh oh...better get offline & start training...).
If my next 6-ish months of training on the bike paths of Denmark are successful, I will be joining my dad in the "Chaverim" group, biking ~60 miles per day for 5 days through the desert of Southern Israel. That's an average pace of 12-14 mph...hey, that's highway-level fast when it's my legs rather than an engine driving me forward! Over the course of the ride, we will be reaching ~200 miles total alongside 150-200 other riders.
We are officially named Team Arad, in honor of the lovely Israeli town of Arad where my parents first met in 1984 - where our family's deep connection with Israel all began.18 years later, they returned to Israel for the first time together with their 3 children to celebrate my bat-mitzvah with a meaningful trip to where our family and their love for each other first began.
This ride will be a wonderful way to connect more deeply with Israel, enjoy some quality father-daughter bonding time, and see paths of the country that we would not typically have the opportunity to see from our car windows, especially not at such a slow, measured pace.
In order to support this second home of mine, and some worthy charitable organizations through this event, I have committed to raising at least $3,950 for the Arava Institute and Hazon (two organizations striving to improve sustainability and the environment in Israel) before my wheels start spinning south in November.
I would greatly appreciate any donation you could afford to make, on behalf of me, my parents, and these very deserving charities. There is no contribution too small, as every dollar I can support in raising will have a meaningful impact.
Thank you, always, for your support!
With all my gratitude & love,
