Craig and I are pleased to announce that we are riding in the 2018 Israel Ride.
Who would have guessed 40 years ago when Craig and I traveled on USY pilgrimage teen tour to Israel, we would return on a tandem celebrating our 29th anniversary!
Mid-October, we, with about 250 other Cyclists and 5 other tandem cyclers will be riding from Jerusalem to Eilat, about 350 miles, exploring Israel and learning about the work two great organizations, the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies and Hazon.
Despite the recent tensions on the Gaza border, our involvement with the Arava Institute of Environmental Studies continues to give us hope for the future in the Middle East. As you know, we are bicycling through Israel in October to raise funds for the Arava Institute thru Hazon. Hazon means vision and is America’s largest Jewish environmental group. Hazon creates healthier and more sustainable communities in the Jewish world and beyond, through transformative experiences, thought leadership, and capacity building. Hazon offers the opportunity for riders of all faiths to explore Jewish traditions within the context of the Jewish environmental movement. to learn more about our ride. go to http://arava.org/join-us/israel-ride/
