I am thrilled to share that I am riding in the 2018 Israel Ride.
Cyclists will be riding from Jerusalem to Eilat, between 150 and 350 miles, exploring Israel and learning about the work of two great organizations focused on creating solutions to global environmental challenges, the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies and Hazon. I imagine if you are reading this page, you know me. Knowing me means you know how much I love the outdoors, how much I love being on my bike and how drawn I am to Israel. The minute I learned about Israel Ride I was intrigued. You also know that Ari, my 4th child, is heading off to college in the fall. Becoming an ‘empty nester’ after oh so many years is a bit daunting. I’ve tried to take some time to reflect on where I want to concentrate my efforts and energy once late August rolls around. First stop – Other than of course the High Holy days in September is… Israel via the Israel Ride. This trip is a huge undertaking for me personally; it is the first of so many firsts to come please G-d! I’m excited for every new face I’ll encounter during my time in Israel, I’m excited to learn more about the environment and to raise awareness and money for the amazing work of Arava Institute and Hazon.
I hope you will consider supporting this ride and feel motivated to learn more about the two recipient organizations. I have committed to raise at least $3800 which will fund Israeli, Palestinian and Jordanian students who study at the Arava Institute and Hazon’s educational programs that connect environmental issues to Jewish tradition. Your donation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your support!
