My dad does triathlons. Not joking.
And he's 30 years older than me. What's up with that?
For the past decade, he has been participating in the Israel Ride. Cyclists ride from Jerusalem to Eilat, between 150 and 350 miles (depending on skill level), exploring Israel and learning about the work of two great organizations, the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies and Hazon.
And every year Dad asks me to come along. This year I said yes.
I said "yes" because I love my Dad, and the ride is a pretty cool thing to do. But then I started learning about the organization and it's actually great. The Arava Institute's goal is to address the Middle East's unique environmental concerns by building trust across borders. The students are Jordanians, Palestinians, and Israelis, and together, they seek to delve into the complex cultural and environmental realities in the middle east.
I have committed to actually biking across Israel (yikes!!!) and also to raising at least $3800. Would you consider making a donation at whatever level you are able? All contributions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your support, monetary or otherwise!
