As you may know I usually do a bike trip each year. I've decided to ride this year for a good cause - the environment. Cyclists will be riding from Jerusalem to Eilat, exploring Israel and learning about the work two great organizations, the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies and Hazon that are each doing incredibly positive work towards building peace and sustainable communities for future generations in the Middle East, and around the world. My aim is to ride 55 miles a day and I am looking forward to the challenge.
The primary beneficiary of the Israel Ride is the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies and the funds raised go towards scholarships for students to attend one of the leading environmental academic and research institutions in the Middle East dedicated to training students from around the world. By studying cutting-edge approaches to water resource management, ecology, sustainable agriculture, and renewable energy, students and interns from different countries learn to collaborate around their shared environmental concerns.
The second beneficiary of the Israel Ride is Hazon, which works to create a healthier and a more sustainable Jewish community, a healthier and more sustainable world for all and has since grown to be the largest environmental organization in the American Jewish community.
I have committed to raise at least $3,200 towards this great cause, and with your help I can achieve this. Would you consider making a donation at whatever level you are able to support peace and environmental security? All contributions no matter how much are greatly appreciated. You can donate online with a credit card at:
You may also mail a check made out to “Friends of the Arava Institute” to me, at the address below. Be sure to include my name in the memo. All donations are tax deductible.204 Morris DrEast Meadow, NY 11554
