I am excited to be riding in the 2018 Israel Ride.
My sister Annie and I are riding in honor of our dad Randall Miller's 70th birthday.
My dad has ridden in the Israel ride for several years. Every year he comes back telling tales of how extraordinary the experience is. Last fall he described how he would love to have us all there with him to celebrate his 70th in 2018. We decided to dare to dream big and go for it. The ride goes from Jerusalem to Eilat, and we'll be riding 150 miles over 5 days, with a rest day on Shabbat.
The ride will definitely be an amazing adventure for us riders. It is also a fundraiser supporting the work of the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies and Hazon. The Arava Institute works to advance cross-border environmental cooperation in the Middle East. Hazon works throughout the world with Jews of all ages and backgrounds to create healthier and more sustainable Jewish communities.
I have committed to raise at least $3800 toward the work of these organizations, and your contribution is greatly appreciated.
Please consider making a donation at whatever level you are able.
All contributions are greatly appreciated and bring me one step closer to my goal.
Thanks for your support!
Time to get started
My training rides have begun. Over the past month I've begun exploring the rides I can do from my doorstep. I've ridden through Point Defiance park on the 5 mile drive loop and across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. My most recent ride linked them together for a great 20 mile evening excursion. I'm excited to be finding good routes with bike lanes and bike paths. As I find more routes and push to longer distances I'll share my adventures here.
