I'm so excited to announce my participation in the 2018 Israel Ride!
I'm riding again with a passion for the same cause, Peace in the Middle East (if it can happen there, it can happen anywhere), but I’m riding in an all-new capacity this year. I'm traveling to Israel and riding solo (sort of, along with 200+ others from around the world!) I'm also committing myself to ride and roll like a Pomegranate - an intricate fruit, born from trees that flourish in the Land of Israel. Each Pomegranate contains 613 seeds, likened to the 613 commandments to do good deeds. Similarly, I've committed myself to doing no less than 613 good deeds before my mission on October 23rd. I’ve been practicing, but my real work begins today - that means no less than 12 good deeds a day beginning right now!
Cyclists will be riding from Jerusalem to Eilat. I’ve done it before, and will do it again. I'll be riding 350 miles over 6 days and continuing to learn about the work of two great organizations, the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies (working towards multi-cultural peace through the region's environmental challenges) and Hazon (all about food justice - local, organic, non-wasteful, eradication of world hunger, etc, etc, etc). All good stuff!
Along with my full plate of good deeds, I've committed to raise at least $3,800 towards peace and these causes. Would you consider making a donation to support me at whatever level you are able? I cannot tell you how much this means to me, to the causes and to our world.
Thank you so much for your support! I treasure each and every one of you who are reading this right now - Beth
