! I will be participating in the 2019 Israel Ride !
I am excited to let you know that I will be participating for a second time in The Israel Ride, a wonderful fundraising event for two exceptional organizations, Hazon and the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies, and am asking for your support. As part of nearly 200 cyclists, we will be biking some 300 miles from the ancient city of Jerusalem, descending southward through the Negev Desert, all the way to Eilat at the southernmost tip of Israel on the Red Sea.
Throughout the ride, as we behold the spectacular beauty surrounding us, we will be learning about not only the remarkable physical character of the land but also the unique cultural, historical, political, and ecological elements that make up the rich mosaic of Israel's diverse identity. Hazon strives to develop sustainable Jewish communities throughout the world by focusing on various aspects of the environment, agricultural innovation, social justice, and Jewish identity. The Arava Institute educates Israelis, Palestinians, and Jordanians to collaborate across cultures and to develop and maintain shared responsibility for the scarce environmental resources of the Arava Valley in the Negev Desert. You may learn more about each of these organizations at arava.org and hazon.org. Ultimately, the purpose of The Israel Ride is to help Hazon and the Arava Institute safeguard the integrity of this precious land, meet the needs of those who inhabit it, and establish peace between Arabs and Jews borne from the unique and novel experiences and opportunities of living and learning together and working towards a common goal.
I therefore kindly ask you to help me achieve my goal of raising $4,000 in support of this very important mission. Regardless of how large or small, your contribution is invaluable and greatly appreciated. Please consider making a donation at whatever level you feel comfortable by clicking DONATE NOW in the UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER.
Thank you very much for your thoughtfulness, generosity, support, and for enabling me to enjoy the ride and reach my destination!
Sincerely,
Marc
