I am pleased to announce that I am riding in the 2018 Israel Ride.
I will be cycling from Jerusalem to Eilat, between 300-350 miles miles, exploring Israel and learning about the work two great organizations, the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies and Hazon.
The primary beneficiary of the Israel Ride is the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies. The Institute is working to confront the serious environmental challenges in Israel, by creating a leadership network of environmentalists through important research, and through public involvement. The Arava Institute draws students from across the Middle East including Israel, Palestine and Jordan, encouraging environmental cooperation between peoples, and working towards peace and sustainable development on a regional and global scale. To learn more about the work of the Arava Institute, or about the environmental movement in Israel, check out http://www.arava.org.
The second beneficiary of the Israel Ride is Hazon, one of the most innovative organizations in the American Jewish community and now the largest Jewish environmental organization in the United States. The word “Hazon” means vision. They create healthier and more sustainable communities in the Jewish world and beyond. Through bike rides, food conferences, and other Jewish sustainability programs, Hazon brings people together, builds community, and promotes environmental sustainability. You can learn more at www.hazon.org.
I have committed to raise at least $3800 towards this cause, and your contribution is greatly appreciated. Would you consider making a donation at whatever level you are able? All contributions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your support!
