I've cycled in lots of different places over the years. This year, Cheryl and I are challenging ourselves physically (there are some very steep uphills) and in our fundraising goal by taking part in the 2019 Israel Ride.
As someone who loves Israel but has very strong disagreement with some of the politics and actions of the current government, I feel it is important to support things that are positive and forward focused. The fundraising we do as part of this ride goes towards the work of two organizations focused on the future. The Arava Institute brings together Israelis, Palestinians, Jordanians, and students from around the world to study and work together to solve the region’s critical environmental challenges. Hazon focuses on sustainability.
On this ride, we will join several hundred cyclists and will be riding from Jerusalem to Eilat. Our goal is to challenge ourselves riding over 200 miles, exploring Israel and learning more about the work of these two great organizations.
Cheryl and I together have committed to raising a combined total of at least $7500 so you only need to donate on one of our pages, donations will be shared. We will personally be contributing enough to cover our own costs (flights, hotels, food etc.) so all other contributions will go to the orgnaizations above. Would you consider making a donation at whatever level you are able? All contributions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your support!
