Are you a foodie? Do you dream about milking cows while in class? Are you interested in learning how to eat more sustainably? Are you curious about how to fight climate change? Then the Hazon Food Conference is for you! Join us, along with other food enthusiasts - farmers, rabbis, educators, chefs, writers, students, and professionals, to connect with, and continue to build, the New Jewish Food Movement. Be there as the Jewish food community gathers to celebrate and explore how we make food choices in relation to our tradition and how to connect these choices in our everyday life.
The Conference has tons of exciting programming for all ages, such as do-it-yourself food workshops, cooking demonstrations, food films, and Jewish learning. Teens are invited to attend all programs.
Through the generous support of a donor, Hazon is pleased to offer up to two full scholarships to the 2017 Hazon Food Conference, covering program fees and housing expenses, to teens between the ages of 13-17.
Teens are encouraged to participate in the Hazon Food Conference along with their families or parent/guardians. If the participant is 16 or 17, s/he may attend the Food Conference without a parent or guardian, provided s/he can get to and from the Food Conference on his/her own, submit a signed parental release waiver, and check in daily with the designated Hazon staff person. Younger participants must attend the conference with a parent or guardian.
By submitting your application, you are agreeing to active and enthusiastic participation in whole conference, from Wednesday, August 9 through Sunday, August 13, 2017.
